As the banyan tree grows and thrives, branches that are too heavy for the main trunk to support reach for the earth.  The overburdened branches begin to create new trunks that support and are supported by the entire banyan tree living system.

Banyan Counseling chose the banyan tree as our symbol because it is our belief that we are all like the banyan tree at times.  As individuals and as members of families, we support and receive support from others.  And there are times when we are overburdened and reach for a new source of support and renewal, all while remaining connected to what has sustained us in the past.
